Aqueasha M. Martin
 
 

Hello, I am Aqueasha Marie Martin. I am currently a Ph.D. student in the School of Computing at Clemson University. I am working towards a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a specialization in Human-Centered Computing. I am a member of the Human-Centered Computing Lab under the direction of Dr. Juan E. Gilbert.  I received a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics in 2005 from Tougaloo College in Tougaloo, MS.  I received a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Alabama, Birmingham  in Birmingham, AL in 2007.  In addition, I completed one year of graduate study toward  Ph.D. in Computer Science at Auburn University in Auburn, AL in 2008 before transferring with my advisor to Clemson University to continue my Ph.D. studies.

Research Interests

My research lies in the area of Human-Centered Computing combining Computer Science, Health Information Technology, and Human-Computer Interaction.  I am particularly interested in how technology can be designed to better support individuals that participate in the public and private healthcare systems in completing job tasks, managing personal health, informing medical decisions, and obtaining information to promote personal health.
